Sri Lanka vs United Arab Emirates
Sri Lanka (Match Odds – 1.08):
Preview:
Sri Lanka’s T20 World Cup campaign got off to the worst possible start, with a 55-run loss to Namibia. That massive loss has reduced their net run rate to -2.750, and they will now require a massive win to make up for it.
In their match against Namibia, Sri Lanka led by 93-6 at one point before allowing the opposition to score 163-7. Their batting was abysmal, and none of the batters could stay in the game long enough to help the team. The team would like to forget about this performance and rely on players like Kusal Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva, and Bhanuka Rajapaksa to score big. Captain Dasun Shanaka, who scored 29 against Namibia, is another dependable batter.
Sri Lanka has few problems with their bowling. Off-spinner Maheesh Theekshana has done an excellent job opening the bowling, and in the middle overs, they can unleash star leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga. Dushmantha Chameera is their main seamer, but he has a habit of leaking runs – he gave up 39 runs in four overs against Namibia.
Full Squad:
Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis(w), Dhananjaya de Silva, Danushka Gunathilaka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Dasun Shanaka(c), Wanindu Hasaranga, Chamika Karunaratne, Lahiru Kumara, Pramod Madushan, Maheesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, Dilshan Madushanka, Charith Asalanka, Jeffrey Vandersay

Players to watch out for:
Pathum Nissanka
The 24-year-old opener has seven T20I half-centuries. His best score of the year was 75 against India in February of this year.
Maheesh Theekshana
The young off-spinner was Sri Lanka’s most economical bowler in the defeat to Namibia. He struck out David Wiese and hit 11 runs with the bat.
Wanindu Hasaranga
The all-rounder bowler took 1-27 against Namibia. He wasn’t at his best in the first game, but he’ll be Sri Lanka’s main bowling weapon for the duration of the tournament.
Possible Playing XI:
Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis (wk), Dhananjaya de Silva, Danushka Gunathilaka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Dasun Shanaka (c), Wanindu Hasaranga, Chamika Karunaratne, Dushmantha Chameera, Pramod Madushan, Maheesh Theekshana
United Arab Emirates (Match Odds – 7.90):
Preview:
Although the UAE lost their first game against the Netherlands, they can be proud of how hard they fought until the end. They bowled tightly through the middle overs after posting a modest 111-8 on the board, and the Netherlands could only scrape through in the penultimate ball with three wickets remaining.
The problem for the UAE is their batting. They have two solid opening batters in Chirag Suri and Muhammad Waseem. Waseem top-scored against the Netherlands with a tenacious 41 on a two-paced wicket. He has a 146.09 career strike rate and could be the team’s trump card. Vriitya Aravind, the wicket-keeper batter, is another player to keep an eye on. In T20Is, he has a strike rate of 130.41 and an average of close to 30.
Junaid Siddique was the star of the United Arab Emirates’ bowling performance in the previous game. In his four overs, the right-arm seamer took 3-24 and frequently troubled the batters. Karthik Meiyappan, a leg spinner, is also a viable option because he can keep things tight.
Full Squad:
Chirag Suri, Muhammad Waseem, Kashif Daud, Vriitya Aravind(w), Zawar Farid, Basil Hameed, Chundangapoyil Rizwan(c), Aayan Afzal Khan, Karthik Meiyappan, Junaid Siddique, Zahoor Khan, Ahmed Raza, Aryan Lakra, Alishan Sharafu, Sabir Ali

Junaid Siddique
The 29-year-old took key wickets against the Netherlands, including Max O’Dowd and Tom Cooper. In this format, he now has 32 wickets.
Possible Playing XI:

Sri Lanka vs United Arab Emirates Toss Prediction
The wicket does tend to sow down a little in the second half, making batting difficult. The team that wins the toss will most likely bat first.
Sri Lanka vs United Arab Emirates Pitch Report
The Simonds Stadium hasn’t seen many T20 matches. In T20s, the average score when batting first is 155. The venue’s highest T20 total is 196-3. The larger boundary dimensions in front and square of the wicket will make it difficult for batters to hit big hits. The team batting first will aim for a total of 160-170 runs.

This is a decrease in pitch. Expect some bounce because the soil is from the Gabba. Pacers account for four of the top five wicket-takers in T20s at this venue, so they should have a good time here. Batters should aim for a square hit to the shorter boundaries.
On the day of the match, the weather in Geelong will be partly cloudy with periods of sunshine.
Sri Lanka vs United Arab Emirates Prediction
