Hobart Hurricanes Women (Match Odds – 2.40):

Preview:

The Hurricanes have had an up and down season, and while the win over the Renegades was encouraging, there are still a few issues. There is a dearth of consistent batting, with no one able to string together a few reliable batting performances.

Lizelle Lee’s form has dipped, with only 15 runs in her last two matches, and while Elyse Villani made a nice 41*, we’d like to see her do it against a tougher squad. Heather Graham and Mignon du Preez continue to bat well, particularly du Preez, who hit 73* against the Heat.

Molly Strano, who recently took 4/16 against the Renegades and is now the all-time WBBL wicket-taker, will be responsible for much of the bowling. Graham went three games without a wicket before taking 2/11 against the Renegades. Graham is a fantastic allrounder, but we are concerned about her ability to compete against strong teams like the Strikers.

Full Squad:

Nicola Carey, Julia Cavanough, Mignon du Preez, Maisy Gibson, Heather Graham, Ruth Johnston, Lizelle Lee, Emma Manix-Geeves, Hayley Silver-Holmes, Amy Smith, Naomi Stalenberg, Molly Strano, Rachel Trenaman, Elyse Villani, Hayley Jensen

Adelaide Strikers Women (Match Odds – 1.57):

Preview:

Adelaide is by far the most likely candidate to host the trophy at the end of the season, as they are currently playing in perfect harmony. The team has won four of its last five games, with the lone loss coming against the Stars.

The Strikers are so deadly because their top and middle order batters are so talented. Katie Mack (227 runs) and Madeline Penna (225 runs) are currently the team’s leading scorers, but they aren’t the only ones capable of big numbers.

Deandra Dottin and Bridget Patterson have both emerged as dangerous batters in recent games, with Dottin’s 68* against the Scorchers demonstrating her worthiness. She had been a little quiet at the crease before this, but we knew she was capable of making a huge score. Patterson rarely makes big runs, but he is extremely consistent.

The Strikers’ leading wicket-takers for the team are Amanda-Jade Wellington (15) and Megan Schutt (14), and they will have to rely heavily on these two to keep the Hurricanes at bay.

Jemma Barsby has also been steadily improving, which is good news for the Strikers, who need to ensure that they have reliable bowlers in all 20 overs. In her last three matches, Barsby has collected 5/59. Darcie Brown had been bowling very well for quite some time, but her 0/88 in her last three games is quite poor.

Full Squad:

Jemma Barsby, Darcie Brown, Deandra Dottin, Tahlia McGrath, Tegan McPharlin, Annie O’Neil, Bridget Patterson, Maddie Penna, Megan Schutt, Amanda-Jade Wellington, Laura Wolvaardt, Ella Wilson, Anesu Mushangwe, Meagan Dixon, Katie Mack

Hobart Hurricanes Women vs Adelaide Strikers Women Pitch Report

The 38th Women’s Big Bash League match will be played at the Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide, South Australia. We noticed that the pitch here at this venue is good for batting in previous matches. The track is slower than others we’ve seen, which benefits the spinners significantly. We are hoping that the surface will become slower and more difficult to bat on in this match. A score of 160 will be difficult to beat.

The weather forecast for this cricket match in South Australia is not favorable. There is a chance of rain in the area, but we are optimistic that we will be able to watch the entire game.

Hobart Hurricanes Women vs Adelaide Strikers Women Prediction

The Hurricanes are a good team, but they seem to struggle against better teams, even though they can handle those lower on the ladder. Adelaide has a chance to finish first in the WBBL, and it’s difficult to see them failing when they face Hobart.

The Strikers simply have too much talent, and while the Hurricanes are fighting hard for a spot in the top four, Adelaide will also be ensuring they have a spot and will not give up easily. Furthermore, the Strikers have won the last ten meetings with the Hurricanes and are 10-2 overall. This demonstrates Adelaide’s ability to defeat this Hobart team at any time.
