Australia Women (Match Odds – 1.01):

Preview:

Australia continues to humiliate Pakistan’s women’s team, and there’s little reason to doubt their success in the next two T20 matches. There are so many talented bat and ball players, and even though Mooney did not bat, Ellyse Perry picked up the runs with 57*.

Megan Schutt was the standout performer of the day, taking an incredible 5/15 from four overs (including one maiden over). Perry and King each took two wickets, but it was great to see Schutt back in action after missing the previous three matches.

Full Squad:

Pakistan Women (Match Odds – 15.00):

Preview:

There was some hope that Pakistan could forget the ODI thrashing and start fresh with the T20 series, but the same problems arose.

Megan Schutt, a fast bowler, annihilated the Pakistan batters, and they had no answer. Nida Dar (8) and Bishah Maroof (1) were both disappointing, but the team did get a boost of confidence from Omaima Sohail (30) and Ayesha Naseem (30). (24). Sohail is a promising future prospect, having scored 420 runs in 35 T20 innings.

Despite bowling out Lanning and McGrath for a total of 28 runs, no other wickets were taken, and the Pakistan bowlers were smashed around the ground by the experienced Australians. Dar’s 1/17 from two overs, on the other hand, was encouraging.

Full Squad:

Muneeba Ali (wk), Sadaf Shamas, Sidra Nawaz, Aliya Riaz, Aiman Anwer, Nida Dar, Ayesha Naseem, Kainat Imtiaz, Sadia Iqbal, Fatima Sana, Ghulam Fatima, Tuba Hassan, Nashra Sandhu, Bismah Maroof (c), Sidra Ameen, Omaima Sohail, Javeria Khan

Australia Women vs Pakistan Women Top Team Batsmen

The WODI series featured Phoebe Litchfield and keeper-batter Beth Mooney, but Litchfield was not chosen for this shorter format. Ellyse Perry has a strong batting record across all international formats and will be a key player in this match.

There is a significant gap in the Pakistan Women’s batting line-abilities, up’s particularly when facing a sustained attack of the quality of Australia Women. In a total of 118 all out, Javeria Khan (16), Omaima Sohail (30), and Ayesha Naseem (24) were the only players to reach double figures.

Australia Women vs Pakistan Women Top Team Bowlers

Ellyse Perry also had a good day with the ball, taking 2-3 from her two overs. Megan Schutt, a fast medium bowler, was the standout performer. She bowled 5-15 at the North Sydney Oval and is looking forward to the bowling conditions in Tasmania.

Fatima Sana, 21, went wicketless at North Sydney Oval, but we expect her medium pace bowling to get more support in Hobart. Nida Dar bowled Tahlia McGrath and has the ability to take wickets with her spin even on non-turning pitches.
