England vs New Zealand: Thanks to a brilliant performance by Ben Stokes and a steady bowling performance, England defeated New Zealand by 181 runs at the Kennington Oval to take a commanding 2-1 series lead. England’s readiness for the format was questioned following their defeat in the first ODI, but they have now allayed any worries. The defending world champions will now be motivated to improve to 3-1 on Friday at Lord’s. The Kiwis, however, have occasionally looked strong, but their batting seems to be giving them trouble.

After a 14-month break from ODIs, Ben Stokes left no space for doubt about his preparedness to play 50-over cricket again. His explosive answer came in the third one-day international against New Zealand at the Kia Oval, where he slammed his way to a fourth century in the format in just 76 deliveries. Stokes didn’t stop there; he continued on to shatter records by becoming the Englishman with the greatest ODI score, scoring an astounding 182 runs off 124 balls and laying the groundwork for a convincing victory against the visitors.
Thanks to Stokes’ heroics, England was able to score 368 and bowl the Kiwis out for just 187.
Stokes’ form makes England’s batting unit appear much more dangerous. The last game’s leading scorer, Dawid Malan, who tallied 96 points off 95 balls, is likewise settling into his routine. The middle order includes Jos Buttler and Liam Livingstone, who, once they get going, can easily shut down any bowling attack. In his last 10 games, Buttler has pounded out 513 runs at an average of 57 and a strike rate of almost 110. In the last ODI, he is the hitter we need to watch out for.
Although Jonny Bairstow played quietly in a couple of games, don’t give up on him just yet. We expect him to do well in the last ODI and get off to a fast start.
The bowling staff for England is largely stable. In this series, Reece Topley has taken the most wickets for them with 5 wickets at an average of 21. In the last game, Chris Woakes performed admirably, taking 3-31 in his 8 overs. With Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone bowling some useful spinovers in the middle, England has practically all of their bases covered.
Full Squad:
Jos Buttler (c), Gus Atkinson, Dawid Malan, Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Reece Topley, David Willey, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood, Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid, Ben Stokes, Joe Root, Brydon Carse, Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran.

369 was always going to be a lofty goal. The New Zealanders’ chase got off to a shaky start, and at one point they were down to 70-5. Then, Glenn Phillips scored 72 runs off of 76 pitches, placing the team on his shoulders and creating crucial partnerships with Kyle Jamieson and Rachin Ravindra. However, it was clearly insufficient, as New Zealand ultimately fell far short of the goal.
The primary problem for New Zealand is that their batting lineup hasn’t gelled. There have been a few worthwhile attacks, but they have largely been solitary actions. For them to exert pressure on a team like England, they must start performing as a unit.
Daryl Mitchell has been the team’s most reliable batter in this series, scoring 192 runs in three games at an average of 96 and a strike rate of 110. Then comes opener Devon Conway, who has 134 runs in 3 games at an average of 67. Sadly, none of the other batters have yet scored more than 100 runs.
Glenn Phillips’ victory would have given him a great deal of confidence, and we might be in for another brilliant performance from him in the series’ last game. Tom Latham, New Zealand’s captain, would also dearly love to gain some experience on the pitch.
Trent Boult has performed admirably as the team’s bowling captain. The seasoned fast bowler, who has eight kills to his name at an average of only 11, is getting better with each game and is the leading wicket-taker of this series from either side. Boult’s performance in the previous ODI, when all of his team’s other bowlers were hammered for runs, was 5-51.
Fast bowler Ben Lister, who was playing in his debut game of the series, took three wickets while giving up 69 runs in 9 overs. He managed to play admirably despite Stokes’ rampage, and it’s probable that the Kiwis will give him a chance in the forthcoming final ODI.

England vs New Zealand Toss Prediction:
The team batting first or the team chasing doesn’t actually get the advantage at Lord’s. However, the toss-winning team might think about batting first and building up a respectable score because the weather is going to be extremely warm.
England vs New Zealand Pitch Report:
Traditionally, Lord’s provides a balanced pitch that benefits both batters and bowlers. In the early overs, fast bowlers can get movement and bounce from the pitch. Great batting conditions result from the pitch’s tendency to ease out in the middle overs. Batters who settle in can score freely, but as the game goes on, spinners might get some help.

England vs New Zealand Match Prediction:
The timing is ripe for England’s batting to be effective. Since they hadn’t played ODIs since March of this year, it took them some time to gel as a team. They are presently, however, fulfilling every requirement, and they will be feeling optimistic going into the final ODI. Their bowling attack will perform admirably on the majority of days, and their batting lineup may be the most dangerous in the world right now. Meanwhile, New Zealand is only now beginning to appear a little jaded. Except for Boult, the bowling hasn’t appeared to be very dangerous. They still have a strong batting team, and we anticipate them to play better than they did in the last game. However, against this strong England team, that might not be sufficient.
We predict England to win the game England vs New Zealand at the odds of 1.45
